If the guy missed those things the first time I wouldn’t be getting him back.
Explain your situation to the first guy and ask for a refund and get a secondary opinion from another electrician.
Put a 7 day programmable timer on with the times you want it on. The use that as the ‘start button’
Make sure you still have a stop function or EM Stop.
I think you should do what ever you like. Being a electrician has been one of the most rewarding jobs for me over the years. Taken me a lot of places and completed lots of interesting jobs.
Don’t be swayed by the negativity, use your passion and intelligence to try something different.
It’s simple 2 wires
When the actuator is out, the switch is on..
Put a live supply on one side of the switch and switch wire to light on the other side. Join neutrals and cpcs in suitable connectors enclosed inside a box if applicable.
My Makita 18V Brushless SDS drill never misses a beat and I use it for chases, screw holes and drilling through walls. Decent battery and it’s as good as a 110v IMO.
