I checked the generator and it is as per the attached sketch. None of the terminals are attached to the chassis. From your comments I assumed a CTE would have terminal D attached to Earth ? The capacitors are attached on one site to A & C with the third on not attached to anything. The other...- kx3210

I have an old Electric Construction generator. There are no markings for the wiring. Putting a meter over the 2 terminals i get 240 volts but connecting the earth comes up with an error connecting to the garage. There is 110 volts between neutral and earth.
