    Company Van provided??

I worked for a company where we had a 'company car' which we took home. Until a new boss came along who didn't like that perk. Quoting tax liabilities, we had to leave the car at the base, and travel under our own steam to pick the thing up to do our job. Arsehole, but he may have been factually...

New control panel required or not?

IMBW, but I thought the SPDs were about 70-100 quid? Tis the AFDD's which bump up the cost, for little gain?

    Company Van provided??

I recall the van would need to be left at the business address. Once you start driving home in it, things start changing. Believe its called benefit in kind. Like if you did some private mileage in it going shopping etc, although very small mileage would be considered ok. If you were required to...

New control panel required or not?

WHAT!? :) Your quote was lost amongst the others. My post was a bit tongue in cheek :) SPD is a surge protection device, and AFDD is an arc fault detection device. I'm no longer up to speed on the latest wiring regs, so others my well comment on both. But I seem to recall the former is...

Admin charge for copy of MEIWC

I’ve yet to ask exactly why it’s needed, but they did say they contacted the NIC to obtain a copy, but were declined. So it can’t be for my old customer.

Admin charge for copy of MEIWC

As above, I've been asked by a solicitors for a copy of a MEIWC I did back in 2016. As some may know, I closed my business down a year ago, but I don't see why I should provide this for free, especially having paid out in solicitors fees for a recent house move. Their fees aint cheap. If it had...

Britain Leave the European Union (Please be polite with other people's views)

Think it was Henry VIII that resolved the issue in England & Wales and basically removed the Catholic Church, for purely personal reasons. He didn’t seem to care much about Scotland & NI. If that hadn’t of happened, things perhaps might be different?

@benjish not sure of your laws etc, but in the UK our police would not consider this matter, as it would be classified as a civil matter.

Did you do any History classes at school. Or did you bunk off to have a crafty smoke behind the bike sheds with randy Mary?

Sounds like your property might benefit from a rewire or partial rewire. If your relocating your CU position, rather than jointing or crimping cables that will be too short, you could reposition the final circuit feeds. If your intention is to carry out the installation, with design, inspection...
