    Vintage Fuseboard Schedule

Found this today (circa 1958)....must have been tedious “clacking” these out on a type writer back in the day!

Another relic from days of old.........

Found this in an old boiler room..... It looks like a thermostat, there’s an old 2core micc that’s been chopped off, and also two mini bore copper pipes that connected into the bottom. I’m guessing the mercury must rise with the temperature and activate the switch.....Lucien will no doubt know...

    Got this off eBay...........................

Seen this on eBay for a few quid! Had to buy it! Quite interesting in parts. On the lighting diagram, notice the main supply and final circuit neutrals are fused. I think the book is from 1947

Lovely old Isolator found in Cellar

Found this in the cellar of an old house in Durham... The neutral is fused so I’m guessing it’s “really old” Any body know roughly the era it would be?

Strangest thing you've had to write on an EICR.

Has anybody ever had to write anything weird or strange on an EICR? My most memorable ones are... *No access to bedroom due to large number of wasps inside. *No access to external condenser unit cage due to large overgrown plants *socket fitted upside down (don't know why, no logic to it...

Green "oil" leaking from twin and earth

Did an EICR the other day, the lighting circuits are 1.5mm stranded with a 1mm solid core cpc (not tinned) Green sleeving is fitted some I'm guessing it from the 1970s. At most of the pendants and switches there's a green oily stuff leaking from the cable where it's stripped, some places it's...

    Newbie - just joined here..

Hi, I'm Kevin. I been reading articles on this forum for about a week or so, so thought I'd join up. I've been "out of my time" for about 12 years now, and have worked for the same company since 1999. I think I've had a good apprenticeship as I've worked in all types of buildings and had 3...
