Did anyone else notice the change on 10th May last year - that the EPC date must be BEFORE the commissioning date.
As we are doing mainly new build work these days, as there is / was a specific tariff for New Build properties, and inherenely they would be better than a 'D' I though I'd get...
In domestic situations, we are now starting to see some inverters that are > 5 years old developing faults. therefore in some instances they are out of warranty.
Whilst in the case of Power One's EO31's we will try and twist ABB's arm (some in 2011 had 5 year, some had 10 year warranties) in...
5 years ago (was it really that long ago!!) I started a thread warning that you may lose out if you have smart meter fitted - Deemed Output - you may lose it if you have a Smart Meter fitted later on. -...

AS the Queen song goes.
Just got another call - system installed by a now non-trading concern, fried inverter, Samil in this case.
The question is, what do you replace them with - Samil only had a 2 year warranty.
Like for lIke?
Something with a longer warranty?
ABB / SMA ?
Thought I'd trigger a discussion here, as our assessment is due in 4 weeks time!
What experience has anyone have about needing / being required to attend refresher courses etc?
p.s we're with Napit for PV, Thermal, Biomass and Heat Pumps...
Got a call today (new I shouldn't post so often on here :) ) an end user has a Power-One PVI-3.0-TL-OUTD - with an E031 error (failed grid relay).
I've given him the contact details of ABB to arrange the replacement unit, however he needs someone local to swap it over for him.
There's the...

Rosemary tiles are the number one roof covering amongst our clients, so we're always looking for the best insatallation method. Over time we've used:
Click-fit (grind every tile and some flashing)

We have one site causing us serious grief
It has a solar edge system on 8 panels: 4 east 4 west @ 15° (2kWp)
It has over 2 years 'blown' the fuse on 4 inverters, as it a non replaceable item, each time needs a replacement inverter.
We've monitored the AC supply over an 8 week period and both...
So, had our MCS assessment for all our technologies last week, new assessor, (4th one in 5 years) this one the best so far, very much looking to help & assist rather than trip us up :)
