A good dimmer needs a good bulb as well. i have tested V Com and V Pro with Ledison T8 tubes and led panels. Both Varilight options work smoothly. For large loads with big inrush current Vcom will do. i had 500w load only Triac based switches can do that.
Triac is a budget solution. for...
my recommendation is to avoid using PIR. Microwave sensors are the future. they last 4 times longer than PIR and more importantly they are accurate
they have adjustable settings (detection range , on off time and integrated photocell)
i have an offer for Led bulbs 10w bayonet in warm white.
The bulbs are dimmable with dimmer switch. Double-click the wall switch or an ordinary switch on a table lamp and the bulb dima to 30%.
Quality product aluminium heat sink.
let me know if you want to try them.

yes they do if you use local electricians. i am not allowed to post adverts but trust me for 15 down lights paid 150+VAT
the wholesalers dont make this money selling led spots and covering even 5 year warranty. anyway i just wanted to say what i found. i agree there cowboys as well
average fitting cost for led lights is around £10 per lighting point. In some case the electricians will responsibly recycle your old CFL lights. So 10GBP is OK
i found some smart led downlights with 3 colour temperatures in one fitting. they are also fire rated 8watt and dimmable
