    I have had the Nest fitted now. The electrician had to put a permanent live cable in, the heat link went in the airing cupboard and he used the wires from the old thermostat.

    Sounds like I will be ok then , there is room in the airing cupboard for the heat link.

    I have one port valve, see photo. There is a switch that is fused next to the boiler and programmer.

    Oh I see. I thought that the Heat link replaced the programmer. I have a Honeywell programmer next to the boiler, which has an isolation switch next to it. My boiler is 5 years old.
