Supply to 3 phase DB tripped

Again not sure on that, but it’s a large place, nothing else gone off. Strange one. Somebody mentioned loose connections, but think we’d have more probs since Saturday?

Supply to 3 phase DB tripped

It’s just bedrooms & corridors. One of the team had a call out, reporting loss of power etc. DB was all on, then found the supply panel tripped. Powered back on, all ok. Did have a network power failure early Thursday morning.

Unlikely, both are locked away, with us with only access.

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

You’re not plugging in a big metal box on rubber wheels into your outdoor socket. Must of the things I plug into my outdoor socket are Class II. :-)

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

What formulae were used? Seem crazy now, that the 18th draft was considering going earth rod mungus or is that something different?

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

The link I posted from WPD, gives their views on such (for those who've not read it); ‘The earthing considerations for the connection of electric vehicle charge points are firstly the type of earthing arrangement (PME, SNE or TT) and secondly the required segregation between these different...

But isn't that the case for all earth rods with ev chargers (don't they do an efli test), whether TT or supplementary earth rod?

Branching out to the domestic world

I was with Elecsa, part of the Certsure plot. Good technical, good online certification. If your doing domestic stuff in England & Wales, being in a scheme is a necessity. However, its cutthroat in the domestic market, with prospective clients expecting works carried out at rock-bottom prices...

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

It does beg the question though, when all have electric cars, how the infrastructure will manage?

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

Here's another aspect to consider (3.6.2. Earthing); https://www.westernpower.co.uk/downloads-view/29293 None of this seems to have been thoroughly considered. Perhaps the recent power outage, was down to people using EV chargers for POETS day on Friday :) And to think the draft 18th was gonna...

EV Charger Installation - Cabling Query?

I've been reading these posts & links back and forth, and I 'm confused. Easily done. After watching the vid, I think it suggest using a supplementary earth, connected to the MET of a TN-C-S supply. Why would TT'ing just the charger be an option, with the problems outlined?

The big difference in the electric terminology and installation regulations and practice in each country!

Thats the trouble with teachers, they think they know best; https://www.writing-skills.com/hit-or-myth-you-cant-start-a-sentence-with-and-or-but Googles good ain't it.
