    Supply cable to portacabin

As long as there are no extraneous conductive parts in the p/cabin no reason why you cannot extend TN-S. Provided CPC/Armour are calculated correctly, cable sized and adequate protection provided. You can lay the swa directly in the ground or put it in duct. You can put an isolator in, I'm not...

New circuits wired into a plastic consumer unit

I’m right in saying the part p and eawr are statutory documents. Like I said in the case of adding circuits dependent on the necesary checks and IMO dependent on the amount of work you are doing to the consumer unit it I would install a metal consumer unit to meet current regulations on a case...

New circuits wired into a plastic consumer unit

I had that same thing the other day, a new consumer unit had been replaced in a rented property and had been told that plastic consumer units were illegal. However, a metal dual rcd cu had been fitted which would have almost certainly improved the safety of the electrical installation. Now, I...

    RCBO tripping next door RCBO

When I say next door I mean in the box. This occurred when I auto rcd tested upstairs RCBO sockets ‭which was tripping both upstairs and downstairs. The first time I got the Rcbo to pass was when I disconnected all other circuits and disconnected the conductors from the rcbo and rcd tested at...

    RCBO tripping next door RCBO

I think I forgot a few full stops. The RCBO failed RCD test. I’m still confused lol once I’d disconnected everything on the circuit the RCBO passed the RCD tests. Before that it was only passing if I disconnected the conductors from the RCBO.

    RCBO tripping next door RCBO

Testing an RCD on one rfc upstairs tripped the upstairs and downstairs circuis, which was the RCBO next door to it. Turned off the power to all circuits tested downstairs RCBO on its own RCD failed 1x and 5x tests. Disconnected conductors from this RCBO tested RCD at the board worked ok. Put...

    Interesting cut-out and meter install

Nope can't see it neither :( if this arrangement is pme with a split con supply cable, neutrals and earths twisted, taped by black tape, connected to the brass block on the right at the bottom where is the connection/link between the top neutral from the meter and earth?? o_O if not pme and...

    Interesting cut-out and meter install

so basically these properties have been supplied by single core swa with no secondary core for a neutral. I would guess this was spotted at initial verification before being switched on!?
