    On the original post a 2.5mm runs to the switch, at the consumer unit end it is 1.5mm. Obviously I realise it must have a junction somewhere and changed during the original installation as, according to the owner, it has only ever been used to run the boiler, and there are no other sockets...

    A disused fused switch was connected to a boiler that was removed. The wire running to the switch was 2.5mm and the person wants a socket to run a tumble dryer (2300w).
