Is there a way to move around a drilled hole in ceiling without drilling another one

Wouldn’t that require a bigger hole plus one in the roof directly above?

Is there a way to move around a drilled hole in ceiling without drilling another one

Thanks Archy but I’d be quite happy with trainee genius o_O

Is there a way to move around a drilled hole in ceiling without drilling another one

Forgot to add that the advantage of this method is that the strip you cut off will match the gap at the opposite side which is left after you’ve moved the ceiling over.

Is there a way to move around a drilled hole in ceiling without drilling another one

Cut a strip of the ceiling off the width of the distance you want to move the hole. Then slide the whole ceiling across. Job done ;)

    Earthing an Outbuilding

Sounds like you already have a 14m run to a rod at the house anyway?

    A Rather Obvious Forged EICR

Looks like a stone bonker fraud or attempted fraud. Don’t think the 2006 Fraud Act applies in Scotland with you guys dealing with a lot of stuff under Common Law which covers most things fraudulent. I hope the builder is going to see the client right and the dodgy spark has carefully hidden his...

I am fit and strong and healthy, but not 21!

Working on a job at the moment. Small extension. Builder used a local double glazing fitter to move set of double glazed French windows. The guy is 77. Does park runs and other 5k fun runs. Raving about his latest pair of Nikes and how he just knock 2mins off one of his best times.

    Need advice on electrician course.

One of my mates stumped our sixth form careers advisor when he said that he wanted to be a shepherd. Same guy (not the careers advisor) spent his lunch time in the common room grinding the valve seatings in the cylinder head of his Moggy 1000. I digress

WATER CHEMICAL FOR METAL AND STAINLESS PIPE

That installation, whatever it is, looks very new. I would like to believe that the manufacturers and installers responsible for it would also know how to operate, maintain and advise you accordingly.

    De-rating a ring circuit

I have watched the video but can’t remember or be bothered to watch again. Did he de-rate the 4x32a and then add an additional MCB for the shower circuit?

Nothing like a mooch with a pooch. Do you have any hooch for later? ;)

The big difference in the electric terminology and installation regulations and practice in each country!

This question probably hasn’t been answered yet as it’s a contentious and complicated subject. In short experienced and competent sparks are expected to test and certify their own installations. Certain domestic work has to be notified to to the local authority. How much do you have to pay to...

Whats it like on the corrosion front?

Stick to TT or go PME?

Also with rumours just before the 18th coming out of a move back to requiring earth rods. Was that a sniff of the big boys in the private sector wanting to avoid responsibility for providing an adequate route to earth?

Stick to TT or go PME?

SSE have changed a couple for me both on overhead supplies. All they appear to do is check the available Ze. That’s why I asked the original question really as my DNO SSE appear to be quite happy to swap to PME.

Stick to TT or go PME?

Good point. Getting confused with TT systems with up front 100mA RCDs.

Stick to TT or go PME?

If you stayed TT would their be anything wrong with having a 30mA RCBO CU with a 100mA RCD or for that matter split between two 100mA RCDs?
