Thanks for the replies will save me some work now then. The breaker was a small 2 way board which had the 16mm T and E feeding a second floor flats consumer unit and I was trying to figure if the 6mm CPC was an adequate Earth

Hi guys
Have a circuit its OCPD is a C type 80A 10ka 60898 MCB with a pfc of 1.11ka. On the log log graph for this device I’m struggling to understand the time for it. It only goes to 800a?
I’ve spoken to the NICEIC who say it would operate withing 0.1 seconds but I’m struggling to see how...
I work for a social housing association. These are our rented properties. Instructions are do an EICR but any DIY electrics that are well....not up to standard shall we say get disconnected
Went to do an EICR the other day, upon arrival and chatting with the boyfriend of the woman he explains "yeh well I know a bit about electrics and do bits and bobs for people" .....painter by trade. Alarm bells ringing already.
Whilst doing a quick visual come across this out the back. I.P...
Hi guys
Not sure If this is the right section. Got a mate who has a two bed flat up in the Erdington area of North Birmingham.
Being a bit aways from that area it doesn't pay me to go there but was wondering if there was anyone local to that who would be interested???
Personally I think the OP was only looking for someone to say it was OK to take a CPC from somewhere else , not wanting to entertain any other sound advice and now we won't hear from him now someone has said it is OK.
Hi guys
Found this at a house dating from the 30s. No power but just curious as to what it was used. Is that an old socket and that's on old plug top??
God knows what they put into their price. But for our company they paid £80 to the subby to do a board change unnecessarily(as the subby classes plastic CUs as C2) then paid for me to have to test it and then go do the remdials when I hand an unsatisfactory report in.
Same electrician different place
They classed the old board as dangerous as it didn't have RCD protection to the lights (even though there was supplementary bonding) and it was plastic....so naturally they fit a board that is totally acceptable...
Seems I got off lightly then....one place with a French bulldog I had the floorboards up and was lay down arms and head down reaching around for cables and the dog decided my head must look feminine as he repeatedly tried to make the dirty with it
