    3phase 32amp socket swap for 16amp

Hi there, I've got a 3 phase compressor and a small 8500W single and 3 phase generator. My compressor has a large 32amp plug on it but my generator only has a 16amp socket so my question being can I swap the 32amp plug to a 16amp plug? Sorry if this is a daft question. Thanks guys 🙂
