    50v on swa banjo ? TNC-S system new build

    I’ve had a weird one today. Banjo having 50v on it. L - main earth = 230v L - N = 230v N - main earth = clear I have 50v on the live - banjo & 24v on the Neutral - banjo. Disconnected both sides of the armoured and done insulation resistance between all cables and all <999.

    Flylead to SWA without a banjo.

    I've been working my way through some EICR remedials in a theatre and one of them is to sort out a slightly high Zs on a submain. Thankfully whoever installed it put the banjo on the gland and even put a bolt through it, they just didn't add a flylead, so its going to be relatively easy to fix...

    I am having to redo the installation side of the AM2s as I failed the conduit. I was thinking about the banjo on the SWA, is it meant to go on the inside or outside of the enclosure that the gland fixes too. I asked the assessor and he said he cant tell me.     Hello everyone, having a debate with colleague, concerning SWA connected into metal CU. Can anyone advise the exact reason for the banjo, brass washer with cpc tag, is it compulsory rather than it just looks nice. Any thoughts sound reasons would be nice also is it a requirement under the regs?

Do you generally fit the banjo inside the enclosure, outside the enclosure or piranha lock nuts every time on glands up to 25mm in size.     Straight forward question, is there any point putting a banjo on one end of a cable and not the other when glanding both ends? Also do you need the banjo if one of your cores is an earth?

    Looked at a DB yesterday and noticed that all 8 circuits were using the armour as the CPC, but the banjos at the DB end were just screwed into the steel enclosure using self drilling screws for steel. Surely this isn't correct. I have salways been shown and told that if the armour is the CPC...
