Hi
Family member has moved into this house which is about 110 years old. Bodges everywhere inc the electrics. We are just rennovating it and when I took down the ceiling the light fitting broke
Can anyone offer advice on how to get this light fitting working for a couple of weeks? It will be...
Hello,
I’m boarding out my loft for storage and I’d like some decent lighting up there rather than loft lights I’m currently using.
I purchased some LED batten lights that my cousin, who is a qualified electrician, said he will come and wire in. He’s good at what he does, he’s sadly just lazy...
Happy belated Xmas everyone. Need a little help with faulty kitchen light….does not fully light up and have taken the cover to see if I can replace the lighting strip but have never done this before and need a little help. Would I need the motor element aswell? Where best to source it from?
Hi all, I am just about to attach some Fluorescent Battens to a wall. PLEASE excuse my ignorance - this is the first time I have installed lights like these!
On the back of the Battens, there are two sets of 4 x Bumps (please see the photos) that prevent the Battens from being attached flush to...
Using a lot of LAP batten led lights which only have L+N connections.
They do have them at either end.
Question is, when daisy chaining the lights there will be no earth continuity from light to light so what is the best way around this .
Hi
I am working on a project and ran a cable down the wall for light switch but the wall is old batten style.
The wall is going to be skim sometime later this week but I am curious how would the back box be sorted later on. I am not sure if dry lining box would be an option. Any help or ideas...
Old Ashley Rock batten lampholder broken.
Is there a newer replacement that I can just change the lampholder part rather than the whole thing? Would make a 2 minute job change to 10 if I had to replace the whole thing.
CEF have Hager Ashley but don’t look like they fit the old bases.
The bases...
Hi guys, I've got a led light batten in my garage that blinks in a consistent pattern after around 5 minutes of being switched on, also trips the garage cu when switching lights off, what could the issue be ? Thanks.
Afternoon all,
Just bought a house with a remote garage, said garage has no power or lighting.
I'm hoping to use the garage as a gym and some storage so I'm looking to install 2x 5ft LED batten lights (45w) along with a wall switch and 2x double wall sockets.
Found this off-grid solar kit and...
I’ve installed an LED batten into a bathroom with an extractor fan and a PIR switch (no neutral). The lamp flickers when the power is off. The fam switches off after the overrun time and the light switches off too but continues to flicker. Can anyone help please ?
Does anyone know of a source of cheap batten fittings... I used to get cheap fluorescent ones but they all seem to be LED ones which are a trifle overkill just for a loft... with like 30 mins per year usage !
Morning,
First post... apologies...!
Currently got 2no LED batten-style lights in my garage, all wired in by a sparky about 6 months ago. 1 serves the front of the garage, the other the rear (and the garage is divided by a partial stud wall). The rear half ceiling insulated and boarded over...
Any suggestions as to a good looking (in a modern building) retrofit for a double flourescent light fitting, the current lights are similar to a Knightsbridge 2 as below. Have converted some of the below to LED which I think is the most cost effective solution but interested if anyone has...
Put up three new led battens in the workshop and after a few weeks one of them is flickering.
They are all on the same circuit , single switch and no other problem lights in the house on same mcb.
Lighting is not currently rcd protected but cu is due for an upgrade. I'm training to be a...
Yesterday I replaced one of my 2 Fluro battens in my garage with a 60W LED. This was the more complicated one (lots of wires) or so I thought but I had it working fine after a little patience.
Today I have gone to replace the second fluro and what I thought would be a simple job - only 3 wires...
I'm looking at putting in new lighting in my garage but some of the led battens i've looked at have a fixed power voltage supply such as this 240v (https://www.screwfix.com/p/led-batten-45w-4000lm-5ft/5440r) and some have variable ones such as this 220-265v (LED Batten Linear Tube Light Ceiling...
Hi
I have seen a 4ft 36w LED Batten at Screwfix which looks ideal for my room where I need some temporary lighting.
The description says "Self-contained, budget LED batten. Supplied with 1.5m pre-terminated cable."...
