Folks need advice. House I am working on. TT earthing. The rod is closer to the gas pipe/meter box than the Consumer Unit. I wondered why I could find no bonding conductor in the CU. It appears someone took the Main Earth 16mm cable from the earth rod to the gas pipe and then onto the Consumer...
Hi
I've just purchased a metal framed ceiling light from AliExpress and I am concerned that it has no earth connection or double insulated labelling, and it's not double insulated anyway.
I know buying from AliExpress is not the best idea but I really liked the design and plenty of UK sites...
I have a metal Hager sub CU, 10 way RCBO, installed in 2018 in an accessible attic space, this sub-CU being fed from another unit close to the meter. The two are connected with 10mm 3 core SWA: line, neutral and CPC. At the end close to the meter, the armoured cable metal sheathing is earthed...
Just had a boiler put in on a grant scheme.
Water main earth bonding was connected in with the existing gas bonding's pipe clamp on the outlet pipework of the gas meter inside the meter box, then taken through the backplate of the gas meter box, then goes along behind the units to the water...

Dear All

Hi Guys: Had a call from an old customer, he's bought a flat to rent out & had a Gas fitter in to do safety checks & issue a Landlords certificate. Gas fitter did whatever checks he had to but won't issue the cert as there's apparently no Earth bond to the gas intake.
The customer was then told...
I've seen the posts dealing with this, but none seem to state a solution I can comprehend I therefore submit the following scenario:
A three pin IEC lead connect to an adaptor that outputs to an 0.5m 18AWG four pin DC connector that plugs into a TV.
Transformer outputs 12V 4A and neither...
DnoSupply is

what should the main earth bond size cable be.? Which part of regs will point me in right direction?

Had the plumber in today and have come across a problem with my stopcock. It basically won't close, stays open so he was going to replace it. As it's in a very awkward place he suggested repositioning it to a better place that's more accessible, ie underneath the sink. Now there's a 10mm earth...

Anyway cutting a long story short, I have now started a PC shop selling used machines but I cannot remember how to PAT test ...properly.....
I have bought a Robin...
Does the increasing numbers of battery powered pat testers, which profess to perform all the tests required by the IEE Code of Practice, but do not carry out the earth bond high currant testing at 20A mean that this test is now obsolete? Or is there still a requirement to perform this test?
