I'm an independent Property Manager working with a handful of Investment Landlords in London.
I was let down yesterday (26/11/12) by an NICEIC electrician who quoted £140 to carry out an EICR test and PAT on a two bed flat in South London, confirmed by email and text.
I only...
Hi chaps
Having quite a heated discussion with a colleague about a 4 pole RCD. He originally installed a 30mA RCD which now needs to be changed to a 100mA, however the N is on the opposite side. He seems to think that putting L1 into N of the RCD, L2 into L1, L3 into L2 and Neutral into L3...
I'm just starting a Domestic Electricians course and would like to get hold of a MFT to get familiar with so I can make the most of the workshops.
I've looked at the Fluke 1652c or the Megger 1720.
My tutor said the MFT would need to do at least the following tests:
Continuity
Insulation

Hello there all the mighty ones,

Doing a periodic and need a BS number for an old MCB.
Its an old late 70's panel and the mcb is one of those chunky black units with the the big switch in the middle with rating on it. It reminds me of the breakers you used to get on dis boards in the 80's.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

(This guidline is not in the iet on-site guide except that this maybe specified by the distributor)
