Hello,
Newbie to this forum here in the U.S.
My 1970's house has a main/sole electric panel with a dedicated 20A circuit breaker for the furnace.
In the next room, 20 feet away, there is a small junction box with a switch and 15A type T fuse controlling the furnace.
I'm guessing the switch box...
I've got an old furnace fan I kept the last time mine was replaced. I'd like to use it for various purposes. It has a red, black, yellow and orange wire. Also a purple going to/from I'm guessing a capacitor on the side and a green ground wire. Can I wire it up to be used on 110v ? I have...
Hi, can anybody walk me through on the CEC side on figuring out the breaker and wire size for a 240V, 15.7kW electric furnace. I am an electrician and have not worked on residential for a while.
Thank you.
I bought my house new in 1978 with forced air electric heat and in all that time all the maintenance required has been to oil the blower motor a couple of times and I periodically have to replace failed sequencers (time delay relays) when I notice the vent temp is getting low from not all...
Hello, I am in Dallas experiencing heavy power outages and my family has been without power for 36 hours and therefore also heating. I have a 8000 w generator and a 100 ft 10 gauge extension cord. Is there any way that I can get this generator somehow wired to part of the Furnace so we don't...

The only issue with this old thermostat is it does not turn off the fan automatically after the gas furnace is OFF when room temperature reaches the setpoint.
The connection appears to be...

Problem in general: my (biomass) furnace needs the thermostat to be set to start up, but, once going, it doesn't shut off when the set temperature is reached or the thermostat turned down.
NB: This was a tiny company, "Superior," and it is gone. Was about 4 people. Can't consult them...
Hello;
I have a confounding problem with my electrical power consumption at my cottage north of Toronto.
I completely close up the cottage for the winter, only leaving the electric furnace on in the basement, with the basement mounted thermostat set to its lowest setting (ie. about 40 oF)...
New home owner here. I know zero about furnaces and breaker boxes. I need to shut off the power to my gas furnace but there is no switch located anywhere near the furnace (above, beside or on) and the breaker is not labeled. Would the furnace be the one with the biggest switch, on the far right...
Hi guys, we have a 3 phase 415V 36kw furnace. Just wanted to know the fuse needed for each phase. we put a 40A fuse for each phase and 1 phase just blew when started firing it up. I tried to calculate the right fuse and I come up with 65A per phase? Is that right?
Good afternoon
I have a furnace blower from USA that I’m using as part of a filter box, the blower is a 115v and 1.35amp
