Hi all,
I've been following the threads about pricing and predictions of the solar world after Apr 2012 with interest. Down here in the SE there is certainly a continual downward price trend for installs. Seems like a few installers are even quoting sub £10K for 4kWp systems. Not really...

What is everyone doing when installing two separate arrays next door to each other? At present we send in the G83/2 application before installing, but have to wait weeks for a reply. I am tempted to install the first one, register it then do the second at a later date and send in the...
As i don't really do much proper conduit work, i have what may be an obvious question to some. Within a PVC installation, if you had 2 phases feeding a light switch for 2 lots of lighting, would there be a cpc pulled in with both the feeds, or is it done with just the cpc from one circuit at the...
Hi all
I am currently setting up as a franchisee of a national renewable energy installation company in Harrow/Watford area. I am looking for experienced electricians to carry out installs on a sub-contracting basis.
If anyone is local and interested in getting involved, please let me know...
Had a long chat with one of the design engineers at our DNO (NEDL) the other day. His opinion was that the whole PV industry is wrong. He's not happy about people connecting all these "generators" up to the grid and says all systems should have to have their consent prior to installation. So I...

I have 2x inverter domestic installation and need some advice on the meter position.
In order to meter generation from both inverters, and both inverters needing a separate MCB, I need to place the meter before a 2 way CU. Would the correct approach to be take tails directly from a henley block...
Hello
I have had many different answers from local electricians regarding the domestic installer scheme. I have been registered with niceic for nearly a year and have been recently asked to rewire a shop with the top floor turning into 3 flats up stairs. It is currently 3 phase being changed...

Need to pick your brains.
Does anyone do any testing for the Local Building Control, when non-registered sparks need a Certificate?
I'm guessing the Building Control 'sub' it out and don't do it themselves.
If so is it worth it and how do you go about getting on their list?
Any advice greatly...
