Good afternoon - we're considering adding an additional breaker to our "main service panel" which is where the meter is located. That panel has 6 slots (I guess 12) with 5 double breakers currently. One breaker is 90 amps which feeds our interior panel which has lights, cook top, A/C condensing...
I am building a duplex. The service enters the house through the wall of one of the units, where the main panels for both units are located. Then the service lines go inside the walls to the garages of both units, where subpanels with all the breakers are located. At this point the subpanels...
My grandparents are having problems after the installation of a smart meter (against my advice) and now the circuit breaker trips intermittently during the Day part of Economy 7 with no other discernable pattern.
Sometimes it will switch off after being toggled on again before a few minutes...
Hi all, I really hope this is the correct place in the forum.
tldr; Oven and boiler take turns to trip the breaker, but I don't think it's either of them so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Basically the main breaker keeps tripping in the house I'm renting. We've been living here for...
Hi guys, why might a fault on a final circuit in an apartment trip the dp c63 submain circuit breaker in the plantroom but not any mcbs on the consumer unit in the apartment?
I am in need of the 200 amp main breaker for a QOC-20M200 Series 1 breaker box. I have attached a picture for reference. I was told it is obsolete and have looked online but none of the reference pictures have the lower bolt-on as I have? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have been living in this house for five years. From time to time, the sub main breaker (bottom-right in pic1, the RCCB breaker that is tripped in the photo) for the ground floor would be tripped. This happens during the raining season (June to October). In the dry season, there is no problem...
Hello Gentlemen
Great Forum!
Newbie to this place, not sure if am posting my question in the right section.
I am attaching a pic showing wiring to the 220-240V main panel, my question

I do feel something is missing here as I am confused with...
DIY homeowner here. I need advice, but will hire a pro if major rewiring needs to be done.
I purchased a home with a 200amp service. There is a detached garage about 15’ from the house. I dont think the subpanel in the garage was wired correctly.
There are currently three 4awg aluminum branch...
I'm a DIY kind of guy, and was never really fond of household 120V/240V power before, until I had a friend who used to be a journeyman help me understand enough to wire up my house we are completely renovating.
So, after putting some walls and trusses in place, and running conduit all day...
I recently installed a photovoltaic solar system for a customer but there seems to be a problem with on of the breakers.
Here is a bit of context: The panelboard is a 100A main/125A bus 3ph 480V. The sum of the breakers is 120A (30,30,30,15,15) and each breaker is connected to an inverter.
What...
Hi All,
I have a BR404L box and it looks like I can convert it to a Main breaker by changing the cover and adding a 200AMP main breaker where the Lugs are. Is this possible and or recommended?
From what I can see you would need to swap the two main leads, is that correct?
Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,
Recently I had an issue with a ring main in my flat either the circuit was over loaded or the connection at the breaker was poor. Either way it ended up with a burnt out breaker with black scorch marks on the top and melted cables by the breaker. As the flat is rented i'm...
Hi.
I have some electrical drawings that has a MCC with 3 control panel with a 150A breaker, 50A, 20A and a hoist with a breaker of 20A all individually connected to the same bar (sum of 240). The main breaker of the MCC is 400A. Can I lower the main breaker capacity to 250A? Is there a...
OK guys, I will give you as much info as poss so that you can offer advice:
I brought a second hand sauna, re-assembled it at home and wired the heater into 13a just to test it worked, which it did.

Hi

Is it possible to take the PV circuit from the inverter via it's own RCBO in the CU into the incoming breaker thus connecting to the main live tail before the house circuits.
Will the PV then only flow past the breaker if it is required to feed house load and any balance will be exported...
