Hi all,
Hope this thread is still going.
I had to cut my stereo antenna cable, so need to reconnect with another cable.
I am unsure as the best way to do this as there seems to be differing views.
Do i crimp the cable or solder? Guy at Jaycar told me to solder but lots of comments on google...
Hello all,
I'm new and apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum to post this type of situation.
Attached are two photos of CPU boards from two different devices. One photo shows a section of the board where the solder points appear to have corroded away. The other photo shows a...
Hello all, I would greatly appreciate anyone's opinion this matter.
Can this be repaired by simply resoldering? I'm concerned about the blackened area around the joint which looks to be burnt and also the wider discoloured area around the joint.
Many thanks.

What is the best method for solder joining 1.5 and 2.5mm conductors?
Apart from the solder and soldering what other tools or consumables are needed?
Thanks All
What's the preferred method of joining T+E for an inaccessible joint? Ring final circuit...
Crimp and heat-shrink, or solder and heat-shrink?
Do I need to take any extra precautions if I'm connecting a new colour cable to an old colour cable (apart from the sticker on the CU)?

Are 1.0, 1.5 and 2.5mm2 T&E cable extensions, made by longitudinal twisting, generous soldering, shrink-fitting of each conductor, taping to match the sheath overall thickness, then overwrapping with two layers of shrink fit (all done nicely!) ‘maintenance-free’ joints and hence able to be...
Good afternoon
Is using twisted and soldered connections and shrink-fit OK for paralleling conductors within a wall box?
I personally find this much tidier and visually satisfying than using ugly, awkward connector blocks, but is it in compliance with regulations?
Enough loose cable is...
