I know once you see plastic entering then you don’t need to bond as it says on site guide.(enters the house plastic then it’s metal)
Would I be in wrong if I have earthed the plastic gas pipes ?
Can someone point me in right direction in on site guide if it’s wrong and why it’s wrong ?
Hi all so I have a situation where a client is moving and they want the db changed for selling. Db change is easy enough as is running a bond to gas which is currently missing. The only issue is that the last eicr said that the water wasn't bonded. It would involve major works (tiled floors and...
Installed a cooker circuit on a fairly new house, found a 16 mm main earth and 10mm bond to Gas pipe. No water bond, there is a blue plastic water pipe entering house to stop cock and then copper pipe, lots of internal plastic pipe. Boiler has copper pipe with no cross bonding. The consumer unit...
Afternoon Gents,
Came across a nice scenario today. Water pipe comes from the street, into the kitchen through a concrete floor. 100mm of copper behind a kickboard where it comes through the concrete 300ish mm of Plastic Pipe, 100mm of copper then stop tap. 90 percent of the installation is...
I am going to quote for a job (new circuit). Problem is the 10mm water bond is under the living room carpet/furniture as there is no stopcock in the house. I know it's within 600mm of the incoming water pIpe because I connected it there many years ago. I did a quick wander lead test from the...
Evening all.
Bit of an odd one this and I just wanted to run it past bigger brains than mine to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.
A brand new PME supply is being brought across to a field which has got 3 outbuildings, all of which need lights and a couple of sockets.
The supply...

House I'm working on has water and gas bonded on same 10 mm green and yellow cable. It loops from the water to the gas. Is this acceptable or a code 3?
Hi.
Jst on with a rewire at the mo. Did main incoming service bonds and now found that next doors water stop tap is in the cellar with about 3 meters of copper pipe in the property. U think this should be treated as a main protective bond? A supplementary bond? Or none at all?
Thanks
scenario is i have a consumer unit at one end of the house, and at the other end (20m away going the route i'm taking which is around the outside of the house) is the water stop cock and 200mm away from that is the incoming gas. so i was planning on using 1 x 10mm to save on cable, i thought...
If a property is full of PVC push fit fittings on the copper plumbing and only about a meter and half underground before entering the house because before that it's PVC again, what is the bonding requirements?

Just been to price for a new cu, water bond cables is ridiculously short , not a chance ill get it direct into the new CU's earth bar?
In terms of not breaking continuity , how can i get around this, obviously i dont want to be extending in a choccy block!
I need to upgrade the bonding on a current installation but am having a problem locating exactly where to bond to. The consumer is in the cellar and so is the stop tap, however at some time in the past the pipe from the stop tap has been replaced with plastic, run across the wall and then...
Doing a periodic at a primary school and am unable to locate where the mains water is isolated from, the earth bar doesnt account for a bond to the water as ive found where all the other go. Ive been told in the past no bond is a 1, but in this case i cant find where it is isolated so a 2 or 3...
On a domestic job today and came across an unusual bonding setup. The main house is TNC-S, supply to remote home office via SWA cable. The remote building has an oil fired boiler and the copper pipe work has a 10mm bond cable going out through the external wall to an earth electrode. The...
