...please go easy on me I am new to this ! I have just passed my MCS and am actively pricing my first 2 jobs. I'm doing a bit of research before I appear before the enquirers. Both systems are fairly large for domestic; 3kw and 7.5kw. I haven't even started looking at the larger one. My question is whether the experienced installer ever uses a rough rule of thumb (providing calcs are met etc) for the maximum voltages they're happy to work with on a roof. when on my PV course (absolutely uselss) the tutor almost warned us off using 1 string for high voltages. 3.3kw onto 1 inverter seems a lot to me and a lot to lose should there be problems with a single inverter. using additional strings obviously has significant cost implications too. I'm considering 12 Sanyo 250 to a Sunny Boy 3000HF. Thanks
