Just read an article in the Newspaper; "11kV zap dad saved by watch"
It states that a cable jointer was wiring a switch (?)(probably a main isolator) when he was hit by a surge (!) & burst into flames , seems he was saved by his watch which earthed onto a junction box so he didn't receive the current across his vital organs; i.e. heart, although he did receive burns requiring extensive plastic surgery.
Now; is it me but, what the hell was he doing working live around 11kV? Hopefully it wasn't his fault & he will get a small fortune in compensation.
