O

One_of_them

today had a fault on some d/l's. Kept tripping checked LN-E @250V and all clear. Dropped a couple of fittings and thankfully on 2nd found the cable after the tranny had been resting on fitting and disintegrated.
As said, found this on 2nd light so was happy but what if I had 20+ etc....is there a better way to check for faults after the tranny? Am i missing a trick?

thanks

if the installation is done correctly this heat/burning fault wont ocurr
the transformers and bits need to be fixed down -not just poked up thro the hole willy nilly

again couldn't agree more that installations need to be done correctly,
however fixing down the transformers???? how do you manage that in a ceiling? and then replacing it? OK in a loft but i wouldn't like to start pulling up half of upstairs to replace a tranny

Until some wally comes in and gets the whole loft insulated, over everything, downlights & trannys n all!

i'd never fix the transformers down unless there was open access from above. as sparky FM said, they need to be accessible for replacement.
