12v Down Lights

Hi Guys

Sorry I should know this one, but I do'nt do a lot of testing. How you test low voltage down lighters e.g. carry out R1+R2 & Zs if the C.P.C is not continous?
And would this be the same for other low voltage items such as extraction fans etc.

I would appreciate your help on this.

you test up to the transformer. for IR testing, if the transformer is in circuit, short L/N and test to E.

You cant do R1,R2 or Zs at the 12v lamp fitting.
You can however test up to the transformer on the 230v side, IR, Zs,R1+R2 etc.
Either disconnect it, or use L+N to E for IR.

Then as stated above, you test up to the transformer, as it cannot be done any further.
