Hi, I have been given some 12V Led lights, the only wiring coming off them is a red wire and a black wire. What is the best way to make these led lights work off house mains? Do I need to buy a convertor?

Use a 12v battery, red to +ve and black to -ve. Otherwise you'll need a 12vdc LED driver. I'm sure your local B&Q will have one.
Sorry mate we all have to learn in life. Smart ---!!!!!!!!!!!!You just can't make this stuff up

Also what is the best cable to use?
No, but don't worry I will not carry the work out my self. The led lights are out door lights and I wanted to put them around my shed and I have electric in my shed and was given these free. Is it a easy job or a pain in the ---.
