12v light going off

a quicky what causes 12 lights to go off after a while and then comeing back on a shot time later ? is it a dodgey transformer?

Possibly transformer heating & cutting out on thermal then cooling down and resetting.
If this is the case make sure transformer is well ventilated.

ok not had a look yet but could it be 2 many lights for the power of the transformer

Yes check rating of transformer to see if it is suitable for the load connected again overloading could cause heating up and cutting out.

The transformer is over loading as said its the t.o.c. check tranny v/a rating and connected load
