Hi vent-axia Svara bathroom fan going in zone 1, vent-axia PSU centra selv lo-carbon (12v transforme) question = how far can the PSU be from the fan, i would like it about 1.5 meters from the fan (cable length) or must it be as close as possible (in the loft) to the fan 1.5mm twin+earth cable any help much appreciated thanks

The tech. data for the fan says the motor is 4 watts, so thats about 0.3 amp at 12 volts, say 0.5 amp max.
So there won't be any significant voltage drop over a couple of metres of your 1.5mm cable. ?
in fact only 12 millivolts, so you could use a less substantial cable if needed!

If you were doing the fixed wiring of the house electrical installation I would say 1mm T&E.
But if you are just talking about the SELV side of the power supply to the fan, I think you could use say 0.75mm white mains flex.

Hi yes should have said it’s the SELV side so 0.75mm white mains flex sounds good. The fan will be around 2 meters cable length from the 12v SELV.
