15 16 or 17 retro fit question

If you are putting in some spots and a fan in a bathroom with the fan being at 2.3m above the bath and there being sup bonding between pipes but not circuts , ie Lights and shower.
Can I upgrade the bonding to the 16th regs and install 12v fan or do i HAVE TO put the cuircuit on an rcbo and make like the 17th?

Any alterations to the circuits have to be installed to the 17th edition.

gotvery similar job on the go. but with an FCU for towel rail. FCU is on ring main which is on the RCD side of the board, lighting is non RCD. was going to put RCBO on upstairs lights but then found landing light had neutral from upstairs, live from downstairs. my solution is to put RCD on all the circuits that are at present non RCD. I would fit RCBO on your job. Then at least your work is to 17th

shame isnt a job in june as the admendent is talking about no need to upgrade on old installtions !!
