Hi all,

First post although I've been lurking for a long time!

I've got the wiring regs exam his afternoon - any advice much appreciated!

Thanks,

Ed

know where to find everything. anything that looks like it may take time to answer, leave it and come back to it . you have average of 2 mins. per question. Good Luck.

Don't panic it's all in fron of you. Read the questions and do the ones you know first. You can flag questions so flag the ones your not 100% sure about.

Go back over and identify the ones you have flagged, normally you can narrow it down to 2 answers so start looking up the regs. Remember the exam will run in order of the regs so that will help you to look things up.

If you are coming to the end and you still have a couple of questions unanswered just take an educated guess. But in all honesty it's not that daunting

50% electrical general knowledge.
Remember 48, 49 and 164.
Pages 48 and 49 are max. Zs tables. Highlight that table 41.4 at the bottom of page 49 is for 5 seconds disconnection time.
164 is the special locations index.

Apart from the special locations questions (it's obvious because they will say bathroom etc) the questions generally follow the order of the book.

Know how the indexing works.
You may know that section 415 deals with additional protection.
But what about additional protection in a special location, eg bathroom?
Well looking at page 164, section 701 is for bathrooms.
Now the easy bit....
701.415 is additional protection in a location containing a bath or shower!
You can jump to it without having to read all the section headings, saving a lot of time.

The same applies for all special locations.
