Welcome to Electricians Forum | Electrical Advice Forum | An electrical forum for electricians in the UK!

Hello circuitsolution, welcome aboard www.electriciansforums.net. Stick around, I'm sure you'll like the place. :)

Don't throw rotten fruit at me for this guys, but I use the Martindale Veritest. Nice and rugged, comes with all the relevant test leads, good padded case and shoulder straps.

Digital display with auto null feature and runs all the test that you need in a multifuntion tester. Continuity, Ins. Res., RCD test, Loop Test (and Loop w/ RCD), phase rotation test, PFC reading, plus it proves polarity and supply characteristics. Good entry level machine and you can get it for less than £500 if you shop around.

Mmmmm......fluke or megger......but which is best??????, there's only one way to find out......fiiiiight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p:D

I have a Fluke 1652, excellent bit of kit, and does loads but it does take a bit of getting used to.

I have a Robin 1620 which is very easy to use and an ideal starter kit, however it has a fault, voltage undereads by about 70 volts, and it wont work on live testing properly, dead test IR Continuity etc OK.

Anyway i dont know whats wrong with it, but it is complete with loads of test leads, original Robin carry bag and all the bits and bobs that comes with it as new. The instructions are also included but they are from Identical Kewtech machine as i lent the originals to a toe rag on this forum who wont return them but i have his address and every dog has its day as they say.

Anyway i want £40 plus P&P for it..............i have no idea what the fault is...............but someone could bag a bargain here, if no takers its on ebay next week. PM me if interested first come first served.

Merry xmas etc etc and ENJOY:)

Circuitsolution, I'm selling my Megger PPK200 Series Part P testing kit...

I bought it for my 2330 L3 but then the College went & got a deal with Megger MFTs, so am now using those for my exams. I've used it maybe twice - NEVER on site. I got it from a Calibration Company, showroom cabinet display item. Everything Brand new. Calibration till Autumn 2010...

If you are interested PM me & I'll email Pics & price.
Cheers

In response to your post, I do prefer Megger. Had a go with Flukes at college & felt them awkward after using Megger at work, but each to their own.
