im sitting my 2391 on 16th march and am just wondering does the revised 17th edition apply? im sure theres a new name for a periodic inspection report?

The reports have changed - i would check with training place to see if they are doing the old forms or new forms. It came in a couple of months ago. I am using the new forms but i have heard others using the old forms still.

They are quite different if you have been taught using the old forms

Hi Ben,

is there a way to look at the amendments online?

Unfortunately not, you would need to buy the BGB (big green book AKA BS7671 2008:inc.(2011) ).

I would find out from your course provider exactly which edition the course is based on, as the new GN3 is not available yet.

As far as I understand it, you can give answers to either standard, the forms have changed quite a bit, and the naming has changed, but this will be, or should be covered on your course.

I would avoid mixing the two editions up for the time being, as this will lead to even more confusion on an already difficult exam.

As far as the 2391 is concerned, the changes you actually need to know about (the forms and naming of said forms) should be covered, but the basic structure of the 2391 will remain largely the same, the testing procedure (for the practical) remains basically the same.

You can have a look (download) the new forms at the IET site here:

Good luck! with the course
