there are some good simulators online that are very similar to the c and g gola exam. also whilst doing them it help working through the book and gets you used to the layout
 
It's an exercise in looking things up quickly in the BRB/BGB. So understand the layout of the book, contents, how it's organised. Have a good read through the definitions section in the front so you understand the lingo.
