Hi, I recently went to look at a rewire on a 1960's concrete construction flat on the 13th floor of a tower block in Hull.
The set up at the moment is an archaic wired fuse board with lots of (badly done) additions to the wiring. The customer would like to rip it all out and bring it up to current regs.
So the earth seems to be in the form of a large steel trunking around the tails to the company fuse. Some helpful soul seems to have attempted to create their own pme by connecting up a 4mm earth to the neutral at some point in the building's history
I've never worked on anything this old before. Is there some sort of earth clamp to connect a 16mm cable to the (at a guess) 2" trunking at the source of the installation?
I'll add some pictures, let me know if you know of any other pitfalls before I price this job.
Cheers, Paul
