2 ovens on same radial

im doing a job in a kitchen this week that as no existing cooker radial my question is
can i run two ovens rated at 3.650 and 1.900 on the same 6mm cable

if so would these need two separate 45amp cooker switches fitting

and also should i take diversity into account and im also a bit confused as to what size mcb should be used

i am qualified to 17th edition but not bein in the job for a few years can anyone offer advice

Yes you can

No they don't need 2 seperate switches providing either unit will not be 2 metres from a single switch.

All this in the OSG Pg 160 section 8.4

thanks so if ive done my calculations correct i would only after put in a 16 amp mcb would that be sufficient

If your only going to put a 16amp protection device in why use the 6mm cable.

Would not a better design be 2x16amp circuits on 2x4mm^ cables. That way if you have a fault on one of the ovens it will not take both of them out.

before i went to look at the job i was planning to put two radials in but they was no room for an additional circuit im having to remove the circuit for the basement to make room in the c u for the cooker radial the guy cant afford to have a new c u fitted

thanks i might after do that to get the basement back on i used 6mm because the guy aint bought his ovens yet he just showed me pictures of the ones hes looking to buy
