2 strings minimum number of panels.

We have been asked to design a system 14 panels on South 2
panels on West. What is the minimum amount of panels
on one string? Not convinced that west panels will get enough
daylight to activate?

4 or 5 dependant on inverter.

Sou what would be the best thing to do?, just not to put the two on the west side as it will just degrade the array so will be of no benifit?.

was looking at a house the other day with this kind of setup and was wondering how they designed it and how i would?

With the extra switch gear, wiring etc your better off making the best out of the southern roof. Maybe use Sanyo panels if your tight on space.
