hi all,
having a complete brain fart at the moment

mate called me up after trying to replace some switches and losing his way

two way and intermediate set up but the live feed is coming in at the intermediate.

for the life of me i cant get my brain in gear and explain it to him in easy to understand terms and i cant be arsed to go have a look after last nights session :p

any chance of a heads up from someone feeling abit cleverer than me :D

cheers

Hi if he has a three core from the intermediate switch to the other two switches its easy,

the perm live should crimp onto black which will now give you the feed at one end , then the switch line should crimp to the other black that will make the switch line now at the other switch , you now have strappers at each switch

hope it explains ok

so the two core that has your live and switch line are red and black.

red is perm so crimp to yellow that goes to one switch 1

black (sleeved switch line) connect to other yellow to switch 2

Then at switch one connect yellow to common ,, blue to L2 and red to L1

then switch 2 connecct yellow to common ,, blue to L2 and red to L1

then you are left with four cables at intermediate , connect red and bluefrom switch one across top of int switch and red and blue from switch two across bottom of intermediate switch,

if you understand that your doing well,, its a lot harder to explain than actually do , if still stuck PM me and ill give you my mobile no

i thought there was only 2 cables at the intermediate so how can there be a live feed at the intermediate surely one 3 core goes to one 2 way and the other to the other 2 way?

Yes lucus if it was wired right you would take live and S/l to one end and then 3 core to intermediate and then on to final switch , and if you did it in singles you would wire live to one end and S/L to the other end with strappers inbetween,,

flukey how many cables are there at the intermediate switch not including earths
