Got a job coming up need some good reliable ones with lith batteries, potentially digital ones. They are probably going to get used for snowboarding holidays as well so good range is a must. Anyone with any experience?:D

Have looked at the Motorola ones they look pretty good and they seem to be the market leaders with range of models etc. Just debating whether digital ones are worth the extra money and if anyone has tried digital over the traditional analogue ones:D

Personally I prefer the range from the professional GP series Motorola units, I have 9 in total, some GP340's, GP380's, GP344's and a CP040. They require a license, but IIRC it's ÂŁ60 for 3 years, and have a 5-watt transmit power, versus the 0.5W the PMR446 units.

Are you taking them abroad then you need to make sure they are legal in that country.

Also good for cutting strands of cable armour, although I try to restrict their use to copper.
