I just got a 30A/50A dual power plug to fit into my dryer outlet I also got a 15ft dryer cable 10/2 with a ground the colors are white and then dark grey with a bare copper for ground. I'm trying to connect this to my 220v lead furnace. The wires off of my furnace are blue, grey, and green with yellow stripe. I know the green is for ground and the blue im pretty sure is equivalent to red. My theory is that I connect the grey from dryer wire to grey on pot. Bare copper wire to green on pot. And then finally the white on the dryer wire to blue on the pot. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. Also how do y'all typically connect these? I usually solder my electrical connections but wasnt sure about one of this magnitude.

I'm in the U.S what you're saying is that it doesnt matter if I connect the blue to grey or white then the grey to grey or white? As long as I get the green to ground wire?

What I would be doing is checking to make sure that your 220v is indeed 2 phase, as I imagine it is, and if it is then yes it does not make a difference.

My best advice would be it may pay you to ask an AMERICAN sparks or forum to help you

I appreciate your help and guidance I didn't know that this was a uk based forum.
