This is with the lamp & fitting removed and the reading is taken from the chocblock connector at the fitting.
The neutral is looped at the switch and it's only 230v upstream from there when the switch is made.
Apparently there's only one fitting on this leg and all other lights on the circuit are working fine.
At the switch it's singles (in MICC) but at the fitting it's white 3 core so the only thing I can think of is that there's a JB or similar somewhere and the neutral is now touching the L but isn't going home.
Anyone got any ideas?

Are you sure its the neutral wire and not the switch wire?
If there is no neutral how are you measuring the 230V at the lamp?
Have you done a Zs at the switch and at the lamp?

As said by Moses are you sure this is not a switch wire?
If you still have 230v on the neutral then I would guess you have lost a natural between that point and the CU - do a continuity test on all cables (using a wonder lead if you can - if not R2+Rn, R1+R2)

you are very vague about what readings you get at the light.voltages L/N, L/E and N/E (with the switch closed) are needed to have an idea.

If you are saying that you have 230V from your neutral to earth, and 230V from your live to earth, then your diagnoses is probably correct.
The neutral could have parted and is touching the live in your Micc/flex joint giving you two lives at the fitting.
