Hello All,

I recently passed my Level 2 2330 in Electrical installations and am applying to do my Level 3, but wondered is it totally necessary to do this qualification?

The reason i ask is because a friend of mine has bypassed the whole 2330 qualification, and instead done his 17th edition and PAT testing and some other courses and has been told he is now qualified??

Please help!

dont know who told him that but he is not ask him to apply to jib for approved electrician status and think you will find he would be graded as labourer/ mate or simmilar.

to be classed fully qualified you will need:
2330 level 3
Nvq3
additionally 2382 / 2391.

now this depends on what you are aiming for, a lot of firms would employ with just 2382 but if you wanted to apply for any job without qualification worry or be graded by jib appropriately or just to be able to say "yes im fully qualified" then the route you are following is the correct one.

Also as you have already done 2330 level 2 it would be a shame for the extra year not to get the level 3.
