Hi folks

Got my 2330-302 practical tomorrow and pretty confident but just wanted to double a couple of things if anyone can help. On the test rig there is the usual lighting & RFC's but also a shower, motor (switched thought a dol starter) and a bathroom fan. Just wanted to check the procedure for R1+R2 and IR tests.

Shower - Disconnect at shower for R1+R2 and IR and remove neon in pull-switch (or bridge out)

Motor - I guess for the R1+R2 I will have to do two tests for R1+R2 and add them together. Test to the DOL starter and then from the DOL to the motor? Not sure about the IR test though.

Bathroom fan - Disconnect from fan for R1+R2 and IR?

Also got to do Zs but as we can't work live (HSAW) I guess I can calculate these from Ze+R1+R2 and just do direct measurements for sockets?

Yeah from what I remember you pretty much got it, I think we just done R2 on the load side of the DOL starter. Saves abit of time, good luck

All went ok. Had the practical this morning. Was all pretty much as I thought. Only had to do Zs on the sockets. Rest was calculated.

Found out I got 78% in the theory last week so quite pleased but missed out on a distinction by 2%. Ah well, some guys actually failed the theory last week so I am quite chuffed.

No more college until the new year then it's the 303 fault finding, should be fun :)

Re: college course

Congratulations buddy, just wanted to ask, what level is the 2330?

NVQ Levels 2 & 3, I did level 2 last year. It's now been changed and I am the last year to do it. I think the new course is 2357 but it's very similar, the theory is the same but I think there is new modules for PV & micro-generation.
