Level 2 multichoice are equivilant to GSCE A-C standard, and Level 3 maybe to A Level - HND, Listen in class and revise, buy the Heinemann books electrical instalation level 2 and 3 read them, and you will be fine level 2, level 3 is harder

My advise, well, what I did and I reckon most other have too is......

1) Read the question.
2) Re read the question.
3) Try to answer it without looking at the given four [4] answer.
4) If your worked answer is then on the list then mark it and move onto the next question.

5) If your worked answer is not on the list, flag the question and come back to it at the end.

Your be surprised how quick the time goes once you start the exam. If you spend ages trying to work out one [1] question you run the risk of running out of time. Hit the ones you know first off and those that are slightly tricky or just too hard flag and come back too.
Even if you have ten [10] question flagged and ocme back to them at the end and run out of time you may of got enough right the first time around to still pass. The ones you have flagged just repeat the process of 1 - 4/5. Your soon narrow it down to just a few questions that you can spend a bit of time on.

Also,....Im sure some students think its a race to see who can get out first. Its not. Its your career so just becasue youve finished before the times up doesnt mean you finished the exam. Sit back, relax and go through the questions again. Double check! Then double check that.

Id rather be the last out and re read things 5 times and pass then be the first out and fail becasue I thought I was cock sure!

Hope this helps you and any others. BTW. Ive just passed my 301 and suing the above steps means I passed everything 1st time and didnt have to do re-sits unlike my class mates. I also purchased the books recomended by the lecturers, expensive? Yes. Worth it? DEFFO! Plus, I now have ÂŁ100 worth of level 2 and 3 books, calcalation books and the IEE guide that is an abundance of reference that I keep in the boot of my car when I get the chance to work.

I may be qualified on papaer and been installing for 3/4 yeasr but I am no way near qualified on site. Even the old boys are still learning 30 yrs on the tools.:)

Electrical Installation Revision Page

helped me loads, nobody knows everything and if you cant remember cable calcs for instance dont waste your time on it move to the next one the most you will get is 2 questions on each specific topic.

Also dont rush to much make sure you read the question properly,on some of the questions you may have to do 2 calculations,ie they will give you 2 values maybe resistance and current say 10 ohms resistance and 20amps current, then ask for the power ,ohms law IxR =V so 10 x 20 = 200V so to calculate power its P= VxI =200 x 10 =2000W = 2kW,but on the multi choice exam one of the answers is usually the answer to the first calculation loads of people fall for it.

Also study this formula wheel it will help if you know them..A few guys at our exam printed them off and stuck them to thier calculator covers, but if they catch you you are screwed..

Calculations voltage current resistance and electric power calculator - electricity calculation - electrical power formula general ohms law physics electricity electronics formula wheel formulas amps watts volts ohms cosine equation audio engineering

one of my lecturers told us think twice before you change your answer to a question you dont know as your first answer is probably the right one and answer every question because even a wild guess may be right
