Hi everyone,

I was told if i enrol on the 2330 and 2356 now (deadline 31st march!) I can do the old qualification 2330 level 2 and 3 then the 2356 NVQ - someone said that this way was preferable to the new 2357 which i would have to do if i enrolled after end of march becasue i can start doing part time domestic electrician work after just doing the level 2 (i understand there are limitations to this part time work - anyone enlighten me?) I was told if i do the 2357 i couldn't work until the whole thing was completed - i've seen lots of people having to offer free work to complete their 2357 on here. Seems loads better to do it the old way for this reason right?!

does anyone know if this is true or just salesman tactics to get me to sign up before end of march?!

any other benefits to doing it the old way 2330 + 2356? or the new way 2357?

Thanks a million!

Maybe a bit late in replying but, here is what I know.
I am also on C&G 2330 level 2, just finished and if registered before 31st March I could complete the level 3. However if your chosen college doesn't run the course due to lack of numbers, or the quota for the course is full you are at a dead end. I opted for the C&G 2357 level 3, the only stumbling block is you have to have a placement to offer the practical side of things. However I really don't see that being a problem. Hope this helps

The 2357 if anything is a better qual and is more in depth, basically it's harder than 2330. But at the end of the as longs as it's a recognised qualification it will do me.As long as I can get my qualification I am not too fussed what courses I have to do..
I now have the 2 final practical exams next week, shouldn't be a problem I hope...

From what I have been told by tutors and friends
I have in the industry. They have compared both
Syllabuses and feel the 2357 is a more intense course.
This doesn't suggest in anyway shape or form that it is
A better qualification it's simply an opinion from lads I know.
So I am going off say so's at the moment.
