Hi guys, had my interview for my course last week and have been given a place, starting on 28th August with induction.

Those that have done the 2365 L2 course, are there any reference materials you recommend?

On my Amazon List I've got;

The City & Guilds Textbook: Book 1 Electrical Installations for the Level 3 Apprenticeship (5357), Level 2 Technical Certificate (8202) & Level 2 Diploma (2365) (City & Guilds Textbooks)
by Peter Tanner (Paperback)

The City & Guilds Textbook:Book 2 Electrical Installations for the Level 3 Apprenticeship (5357), Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma (8202) & Level 3 Diploma (2365)
by Peter Tanner (Paperback)

To my understanding the above replaced this;

The City & Guilds Textbook: Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) 2365 Units 201-4 and 210 (Vocational)

Napit EICR Codebreakers

Guidance Notes 1-8

Electrical Installation Design Guide: Calculations for Electricians and Designers (Electrical Regulations)
by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (Paperback)

BBB -
Requirements for Electrical Installations, IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition, BS 7671:2018 (Electrical Regulations)
by The Institution of Engineering and Technology

I have the latest OSG, just pondering if I'm missing anything worth getting?

i don't personally know those first 2 textbooks, so can't comment there. my advice would be to also watch videos by Chris Kitcher and John Ward. these will introduce a more practlcal approach.

For the level 2 The City & Guilds Textbook: Book 1 Electrical Installations is a must as is the OSG. These pair will be the ones you'll use all the while in class.

Guidance notes 3, code breakers, BBB etc you wont use on the level 2 but having the GN3 is always good to have for cross reference, & the BBB wont come in until the level 3.

Also C&G is either changing this year or the start of the new year where instead of doing exams after each unit you'll get an end of course exam which covers everything, apparently they're reverting back to how it used to be.

Also watch Youtube videos especially GSH electrical

I am on Level 3, this is the one we have: The City & Guilds Textbook:Book 2 Electrical Installations for the Level 3 Apprenticeship (5357), Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma (8202) & Level 3 Diploma (2365): Amazon.co.uk: Peter Tanner: 9781510432253: Amazon.co.uk - https://www.amazon.co.uk/City-Guilds-Textbook-Installations-Apprenticeship/dp/1510432256/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=level+3+2365&qid=1567517748&s=gateway&sr=8-2

You will need an OSG and it could be worth getting the BS7671, just for your design project as it will come in handy. The likes of Code Breakers and GN3 will come in handy when doing your Testing and Inspection Qualification.
