Hi
Doing my 2377 next week, and I know every body keeps on telling me how easy it is I would still like to know what book/s you are allowed to take in with you.

I have looked around oin the net, and all I can find is it is an open book exam but it doesn't say which book.

Many thanks

Lyngarth

the book your looking for is

Code of practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment

The exam is quite easy i got 100% when i did it, there are some practice exams online which simulate the gola exam.
Have to say though since i done this exam 2 years ago i haven't done any pat testing.

Good Luck:)

Thanks for the replys, will dig the book out just to refresh my poor old brain. I have been asked to do some testing at a couple of places with the poss of a few more for a local spark, who has 5 people working for him but none are willing to do any pat testing.

But to me, work is work and will have a go at anything.

If/when i pass  and if he is happy with my work, he has said he is happy to go havles on a new pat tester for me, as long as I stay with him for the year.(doing other work as well)

So anyone got some good recommendations for testers ??

Cheers all

The following book is also worth looking through

[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/IEE-Exam-Success-Standards-Compliance/dp/0863418058]IEE Exam Success: City and Guilds 2377 Standards and Compliance: Amazon.co.uk: Mark Coles, Jonathan Elliott: Books[/ame]

Thanks for the help and advice, have now taken the exam, and got a pass with 94%, so very happy.

I was using a fluke 6500 yesterday, it was a friends and he let me help him out on a B & B he was testing, and I must say it makes it a very easy test to do but it costs ÂŁ650!!

Will keep on looking for now.

Cheers
