Hi, I'm doing the 2382-12 online through NICEIC and the recommended learning time is 22 hours. I'm 50% through and its taken me 2.5 hours so far. I'm worried I'm not studying it correctly although I've got all the challenges and questions right. What I need to know is the exam in sections as the revision material is or is it jumbled? and what am I going to need to memorise as I believe its an open book exam therefore looking up tables and using given values? or am I mistaken? How did you revise?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Tony

2382 is open book exam so you can look up answers , dont need to memorize anything.
From what i remember its 40 multiple choice questions , fairly straight forward , so just keep reading through the course material.

It's 60 questions.

But the NICEIC eLearning should offer the opportunity for you to use the formulas.

Common examples for use with reference to the tables in BS 7671 would be;

Maximum permissible thermal withstand
Sizing of protective conductor via selection and calculation (adiabatic)
Cable selection using bulk of appendix 4 (rating factors, Ca, Cc, Cf, Ib, In, Iz etc).
