Just a bit stuck on a 2382-12 practice test question.

The effectiveness of protective measures should be considered with regard to.
A. External infulances
B. safety services
C. Maintainability
D. Compatibility

Reg. 341.1 says the awnser is C but reg. 410.3.3 says the awnser is A.

Any help please

I think the answer is associated with 410.3.3 - safety services, maintainability and compatability are not directly related to protective measures.

If the practise test question is close to a 'real' exam then the questions are usually in chronological order. Depending on who the exam was created by (C&G or EAL) by knowing the question number you could work out what part number the answer is in! Which could differentiate between Part 3 and Part 4. Similarly look at the question before and after and where they are in relation to your proposed answer!

Horrible question.
I think I'd go for 'C', maybe for no other reason than the phrase 'the effectiveness of protective measures' is used in 341.1.ii !

Good point yellowvanman makes about the order of the questions follows the book.

one more I am a bit stuck on is
Which of the following items does not offer ‘basic’ protection:
a a circuit protective conductor.
b a socket outlet.
c a lampholder.
d equipotential bonding conductors correct

Now the answer given is C a Lampholder. Is this correct if you look at the definition of basic protection. " Protection form shock under fault free conditions"
I put down A and was wonder How is a CPC basic protction? Probably simple but am I missing something?

basic protection is provided by enclosing live parts so they can't be touched. a lamp holder is open wth exposed live parts.
