Quite correct. It isn`t a stated pre-requesite of C&G. However, ASFAIK most colleges demand a previous pass in the 2391-10, but i should have made the distinction perhaps. Also, as you acknowledge, you`ll need to pass the practical on one or other.
Bobby, I suspect just about everyone whose sat a 2391-10 would relate to the first line of your reply

As to the project, its basically a scale plan of a building - could be a sports centre, could be a light industrial/retail combo with flats above etc (they try to throw various forms of installation types in the mix) and you`ve essentially got to design the electrical installation(s) for it. As you have to supply all calculations used thruout, it can be surprisingly time-consuming, but a very useful exercise - if you enjoy the maths that is (hence my mention of them)
Oh, and you`ll need lots of coloured pens
The exam has a small number of scenario based questions, wildly varying, which demand a pretty comprehensive working knowledge of BS7671, GN3, Building Regs and of course, design calcs. Its open book, but realistically you haven`t time to check more than a few obscure points. You need to have 90% or more locked in your head already. The `questions` are quite often better described as `tasks` - such as putting down on paper the regulations & procedures pertaining to the Inspection & Testing of a caravan park. This approach demands you have a good understanding of I & E, as well as an awareness of the peculiarities of Special Locations
Typically the 2391-20 courses are subscribed to by small numbers of the more capable & experienced sparks, and the discussions that form part of a well run course can be amongst the most informative you`ll come across.
Best of luck if you do go for it - sure you`ll enjoy it
